Mr. Daniel Kimball Fale is a Commissioner of the Tonga Public Service Commission, with a diverse professional background spanning public administration, economics, corporate governance, infrastructure development, media, and Tongan and Pacific history and culture.
Mr. Fale previously served as Deputy Chairperson of the Public Service Commission in 2025. His public sector experience includes serving as Assistant Secretary and Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Finance from 2003 to 2006. He has held significant board leadership roles, including Chairman of Tonga Airports Limited, Ports Authority Tonga Limited, and Friendly Island Shipping Agency Limited, and has served as Chairman of Pacific Sports International LLC since 2015.
His wider experience includes senior operational roles at Tonga Communications Corporation and consultancy work in administration, finance, economic research, tourism, and infrastructure development. From 2020 to 2025, he also served as a commentator and host for the Koli-tala-ʻaho Podcast and Leʻo ʻo Tonga Radio, providing commentary on economics and current affairs.
Mr. Fale holds a BA in History and a Minor in Information Systems from Brigham Young University–Hawaii. He was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and received special recognition from the South Pacific Board of Education for achieving Grade One in six subjects in the Pacific Secondary Schools certificate Examinations (Form 6 national examinations).
Katrina Lee Ma‘u Fatiaki is a respected development practitioner and human rights specialist with more than 20 years of experience in programme management, evaluation, research, and consultancy across the Pacific. She is the founder and Lead Consultant of Tapuaki Mei Langi Consultancy, which specializes in leadership, human rights, and gender equality initiatives.
Mrs. Fatiaki has held senior positions including Senior Development Programme Coordinator at the New Zealand High Commission in Tonga, Human Rights Officer with the Secretariat of the Pacific Community’s Regional Rights Resource Team, and Political Governance Young Professional at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat. She has also worked for the Government of Tonga in setting up the Ministry of Information and Communications in 2008.
She also manages disaster response and housing resilience projects in Tonga with Habitat for Humanity New Zealand and continues to serve as Chairperson of the Pacific Legacy Leadership Foundation, promoting ethical and resilient leadership in the region. Mrs. Fatiaki is also passionate about Returnees’ rights, supporting Dare to Dream as the Secretary of the Board since 2019.
She holds a Master of Science in Human Rights and International Politics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Journalism from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. Her academic and professional achievements have been recognized through various scholarships and awards, including the Commonwealth Scholarship, New Zealand Development Scholarship, and several USP journalism and academic awards
Mr. Sateki Hopoate ‘Ahio is a distinguished public servant and international executive with over three decades of leadership experience across government, diplomacy, and community sectors in Tonga and New Zealand. He has held a number of senior positions, including Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Office of the Ombudsman, Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and Deputy High Commissioner at Tonga’s first High Commission in Wellington.
Mr. ‘Ahio made history as Tonga’s first Lord Privy Seal, appointed by His Majesty to serve as Secretary to Privy Council meetings during the Kingdom’s period of political reform. He also served as Private Secretary to His Majesty King George Tupou V, where he was responsible for constitutional, ceremonial, and diplomatic functions.
His professional expertise spans governance, policy development, civil aviation, sports development, and public administration. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Wollongong, Australia, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His distinguished service has been recognized through honours including the Order of the Crown of Tonga and the Coronation Silver Jubilee Medal.
